The bay is a bird habitat of international importance that provides both sanctuary to the birds and beauty to the visitor. There is plenty here to keep the family entertained - from the maze to the magpie hopscotch; the circle of mysterious egg - shaped boulders to the absorbing food trail. The Stone Jetty is an absolute must as it leads you on an amazing journey, far out into the magnificent Bay. This former harbour was originally built around 1853 and has undergone extensive regeneration. The spectacular Stone Jetty has been transformed from an ageing, weather- beaten structure into a place of fun and artistic beauty. It is accessible to everyone and is free. It is also the most romantic place to witness the Bay's stunningly beautiful sunsets and a great spot from which to observe the teeming bird life. Enjoy a stroll along the attractive promenade right outside our front door and stop off at Happy Mount Park for a picnic. In the summer, you can get caught up in the atmosphere and enjoy the great sounds of the brass bands play there. The park also boasts a miniature railway, paddling pool and crazy golf. Morecambe is a great place to shop too, with vibrant markets offering a wide range of stalls that will cater to just about anyone. Morecambe will never disappoint you. From the overhead call
of the seagulls heading out to sea, the sight of the fishing boats riding
the tides as they come home with their catch and the atmosphere of this
historic, traditional, seaside resort that has made it one of the most
popular holiday destinations in Britain; Morecambe is simply synonymous
with fun filled holidays. Add to this the warmth of the people and excellent
accommodation here at the Westleigh and you have the perfect recipe for
a perfect seaside break. |
